AP launches a call for tenders for the supply of 350 electric buses
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has issued a tender for the purchase of 350 electric buses to be deployed in the state.
The tender is for the selection of bus operators for the purchase, installation, operation and maintenance of fully built air conditioned electric buses in the gross cost contract model.
It is proposed to launch electronic invitations to tender with reverse auctions from qualified bidders / consortia interested in the deployment, operation and maintenance of operator-owned electric buses of 9 meters and 12 meters in length. The 350 buses purchased under the tender are proposed for deployment in five cities across the state.
The bidding and bidding process is part of the gross cost contract model under Phase II of the FAME India program.
While proposals were solicited today (June 5), June 14, 2021 has been set as the deadline for submitting electronic bids.
As a result of the process, it is proposed to proceed with a reverse tender on June 23.
Over the past 12 to 18 months, several states have issued electronic tenders and finalized bids for the supply and deployment of electric buses in the country. Under the contracts awarded, the bidder was given the mandate to supply, operate and manage the fleet of electric buses over a specified period.
