Curved glass manufacturer Cricursa, based in Barcelona, Spain, faces an uncertain future. According to El Nacional, the company filed for bankruptcy in December and is said to have debts of approximately $68,595,300*.

The government of Lleida, a province in northeast Spain, met today, February 9, to cover the case, which includes a call for the company to be liquidated or sold. According to the report, the government delegate in Lleida, Bernat Solé, said they will work “tirelessly” to ensure the continuation of activity in the factories.

Cricursa has employed nearly 200 people in its factories in La Sentiu de Sió and Balaguer, towns of Lleida. The company also has 130 other employees at its factory in Granollers, located about 21 miles from Barcelona. According to reports, a group of workers gathered outside the Sentiu de Sió factory last week in protest against their uncertain situation, and other media reports that the workers have not been paid for months. .

At press time, representatives for Cricursa had not responded to request for comment.
