If you thought the January transfer window was busy, buckle up for the summer ahead, as Arsenal have a huge list of things to go through at the end of the season. There are contracts to settle, players to sell, players to buy and stars to lend whose future must be assured; Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira to name a few.

The pair were both fortunate enough to impress following Mikel Arteta’s nomination, but neither were judged to be the right standard or attitude to cement their place at his side.

A loan agreement was reached over the summer to send Lucas torreira at Atletico Madrid, where despite his involvement in a La Liga title race, his involvement was rare and the situation was even reviewed in January with a view to sending him temporarily to another club.

It was a similar situation for Matteo guendouzi, which Arsenal attempted to sell as part of a permanent deal but failed to find a buyer – possibly due in part to their asking price of £ 30million – with a move from a season at Hertha Berlin materializing. It has been significantly more successful for the Frenchman in terms of accumulated minutes as he has become a ubiquitous part of the Bundesliga squad.

Is there a better spectacle in football than a player going wild when his teammate scores? 😍

Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi prepare for crucial talks with Arsenal over long-term futures

Do either have a long-term future at Arsenal? All signs point to the summer sales, although Guendouzi’s form has opened the door to potential reintegration into north London. Either way, crucial talks are in store to determine the pair’s future, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

“He [Guendouzi] will be back this summer, they will discuss with Hertha Berlin about her future and whether they will have any other opportunities, ”said Romano The Blind Gooner.

“We had rumors that he could leave Hertha Berlin in January to return to Arsenal, but that wasn’t true just because Hertha always said he wanted the player and would keep him.

“Next summer is so similar to Torreira, because they want to decide next summer.

“They will have a meeting that they always do at Arsenal, and together they will decide the future of players like Torreira and the same with Matteo Guendouzi and more, in the coming weeks we will know more.”

Instead of waiting until the end of the season, knowing more “in the coming weeks” portends a decision taken before the summer to break through the mountain of tasks that awaits the club. So what are the plans?
