Federal authorities say Turkish steel rebate suit has taken the plunge

By Grace Dixon (Nov 15, 2021, 6:02 p.m. EST) – The federal government has urged the US Tribunal of International Trade to file a lawsuit challenging its refusal to exclude 19 shipments of Turkish steel pipe from high national security tariffs, claiming that the prosecution is premature given that the shipments have not yet been liquidated.

Turkish steel pipe maker Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret AS alleged US Customs and Border Protection owed it reimbursement of the 50% duty paid on pipes used to build the Gulf Coast Express Pipeline, which it said , were eligible for an exclusion for products the domestic industry is unable to supply on its own …
