GHMC reinforces 30 isolation centers
Hyderabad: Precautionary measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus are underway in the city. As the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) bolsters 30 isolation centers located in different parts of the city, officials from the Ministry of Health, Medicine and Family Welfare continued their investigation into the fever in Tolichowki for the third consecutive day. The investigation into the fever took place in the locality as two foreign nationals who tested positive for the Covid-19 Omicron variant came to this area.
Meanwhile, the Entomology Wing of the Civic Body intensified the spray activity in this area and sodium hypochlorite was sprayed in public places. Civic body officials said measures to contain the spread of the virus will continue. “In addition to intensifying the spraying activity, sanitation in Tolichowki and its surroundings has been stepped up,” said an official from the sanitation wing of GHMC.
Ten proposals approved

A total of 10 agendas were approved by the GHMC board meeting held here on Monday. Major approved programs included a Global Request for Proposals (RFP) for the treatment and disposal of legacy leachate in Jawaharnagar, construction of a new RCC building for the proposed transit dormitories with 187 female beds at Nampally Sarai in the part of the Safe City project and the remodeling and improvement of stormwater. drain from Saki Cheruvu in Gangaram Cheruvu.
Jurnos refused entry, protest
Media representatives who traveled to GHMC headquarters to cover the council debates on Saturday staged a protest outside the council chamber after being refused entry to the designated press gallery. Media representatives who gathered in the council chamber were told by security personnel that access to the proceedings was restricted. They were asked to go to the Panwar Hall inside the head office to cover the council meeting, but the hall was found occupied by officials from the civic body. Following this, a demonstration was organized to demand entry into the press gallery.
