Mercyhealth will resume childbirth, classes for newborns
ROCKFORD – Mercyhealth will resume in-person delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding and infant and child CPR classes in 2021.
Preparation for childbirth will take the form of a one-day Saturday class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 19, August 21 and December 11 or a two-night Wednesday class from 6 p.m. to 4 p.m. 9 p.m. on August 18 and 25, October 13, December 20 and 1 and 8
Newborn care will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 8, August 7, October 2 and December 7; and 9 a.m. to noon on June 5, August 7, October 2 and December 5.
Breastfeeding will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 31, September 25 and December 4.
Infant and Child CPR will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on June 5, August 7, October 9 and December 4.
All participants are required to wear a mask and social distancing.
Hospital visits are offered during pregnancy to individuals and their support persons.

Heritage Museum Park is hosting a fundraiser
ROCKFORD – The Heritage Museum Park is hosting its Heritage Foodless Feast fundraiser.
The campaign raises funds for the Ethnic Heritage Museum and the Graham Ginestra House Museum. No food will be served; donation options are representations of authentic foods and dishes from the galleries at Heritage Museum Park.
The Town Planning Council of Region 1 issues requests for proposals
ROCKFORD – The Region 1 Planning Council is requesting a response from all respondents qualified and responsible for completing a corridor study for the Keith Creek Main Branch.
Beginning in western Boone County, Keith Creek moves southwest through the town of Rockford before converging with the Rock River just south of Morgan Street in southeast Rockford. The Keith Creek Corridor offers the opportunity to invest in a historically deprived area of the City of Rockford.
