OPEC is not anxious to “help us”
Crude prices remain at levels not seen since 2014, fueled by demand that continues to exceed supply. At the same time, natural gas prices have retreated from levels not seen in about 13 years.
West Texas Intermediate on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose three of five trading days with Monday’s close unchanged from last Friday’s levels. WTI rose 76 cents or 0.9% to close at $ 83.57, down slightly from Monday’s close of $ 83.76. The listed price ended the week at $ 80.05, according to Plains All-American.
