rfp: RLDA invites RFP for upgrading of Muzaffarpur Railway Station in Bihar

The goal of station redevelopment is to improve the passenger experience by providing best-in-class amenities. The upgrade will be done through the EPC contract template.
The scope of works will broadly include the construction of a new station building, a 108 meter wide aerial plaza above the platforms for the movement and waiting of departing passengers, the provision of a second entrance and the integration of both sides of the city.
The revamped station will be equipped with a Wi-Fi-enabled public address system. The building will also include a fire-fighting system and grid-connected SPV (solar photovoltaic) systems to reduce the carbon footprint. The renovations are expected to be completed within three years.
“Upgrading of Muzaffarpur Railway Station will improve the travel experience of commuters apart from generating a lot of business opportunities in the region,” said Ved Parkash Dudeja, Vice President of RLDA.
“The needs of all categories of passengers and citizens are taken into account when designing the new station. The new station will not only improve the passenger experience, but will also act as a city center and prove to be a new hub of development in the region,” he added.
